Three journalists ask why anti-bullying strategies in schools aren’t working. Harmed in Hamilton explores the deep rooted and systemic reasons behind ineffective anti-bullying strategies that can end up putting children last.

Public schools across Ontario’s major cities have a sharp focus on bullying and responding to it. Yet anecdotes from students, parents and some staff members highlight a problematic approach to handling incidents that harm the wellbeing of young people. We wanted to know why so many resources were being invested in an approach that seems to be failing us. 

Harmed in Hamilton was originally performed at the Theatre Aquarius in Oct 2022. A revamped version of the show had a seven-show run at the Hamilton Fringe Festival in July 2023.
